I could kill this thread for you, but I actually wanted to keep it to offer some advice to everyone.

Whenever you are writing a really long post, I'd advise you to do it in something other than a web form field. Open up a blank email, a Word document, notepad or whatever. Or if you compose in the web form, copy and paste periodically into some storage area.

The reason is simple. Any web page/web form might have glitches. Time and again, I used to write something, push submit and watch it go into never never land. I don't just mean on our forums. I mean on forums and forms all over the web.

At the moment, Firefox 1.5 for me seems to like to crash for no reason, something no web site operator can control. But I lose little, because I always at least copy and paste into my clipboard memory before submitting.

We obviously will do what we can to make sure the SEW Forums themselves don't lose what you write, but backing up for us or anywhere is good advice.
