View Full Version : Get ranked on G in just 4 weeks (Real Story)

I know it sounds really impossible. But this is the story:
A new domain name bought it on November 2005; web design finished on February 2006; G search results with competitive keyword phrases become visible on March 2006…

I’ve been in SEM/SEO business since 2002 and after Florida Updated (2003) I haven’t seem something like that.

Is any possibility G "stop working" on his data bases for a while?
I can’t believe this.
Any comments will be appreciate.

I have noticed that new sites briefly appear on search engine results for a while before they get into Google Sandbox (an aging delay phenomenon) and disappear for several months.

Just observe the next four weeks and see if results remain. Good luck!

I agree with what ewc21 wrote. Many times, Google displays "new" sites high in the SERPs just after they crawled them but then they drop after a few days.

I also experienced this but I had AdSense on the site - do you have AdSense?

My feeling is that it was the ads that bumped the sites (there were 2 of them) which makes sense because it allows google to make more $$. But that's pure speculation on my part.

This is a thought pattern that comes up often. In my opinion and that of many others, there is no direct correlation between AdSense or AdWords use bearing on organic rankings. I have a couple clients still fighting for ranking on keywords they spend thousands on. They also host AdSense ads.

If only it was so simple...

(also: I agree with the above posts that you shouldn't count your chickens before the have hatched and been live for a couple crawls.)

The reason I figured it was ads is because it happened on 2 brand new domains - both registered in January, site design in Early February and ranking by end of February. Neither have incoming links from anywhere.

At the same time I have another site without ads, similar situation but over a year old and it just new is ranking even with quite a few good links.

Like I said though, it's only my observations and I know you can't make a case based on 2 sites. It was an interesting thing to me though - one I will continue to test to see if it happens again (I have a couple more sites I'm launching so I may do ads on one and not the other to see the effect).

Nope, we don’t use ad sense, no PPC campaigns... the site is completely new.

Hi Chris
I’m agreeing with you. There’s no relation between Adwords/Adsense to get ranked on G… and to be honest with you, I’m not expecting to be much time on the search results, because it’s G

I’ve seen situations like this on Yahoo or other SE, but it’s my first time with G
That’s why I was in shock… it was something unbelievable to my eyes seen traffic coming thru G just 4 weeks after we publish the portal.

Now, I don’t know what to expect…

Well... google is sorta crazy... there are dozens of ways u can get indexed faster...
But the process to get really indexed by google is a little slower... is
kinda of a queue... so there are ways u can skip some of the steps of the process... but will never avoid them... so sooner or later u'll finish that queue (with or without the proper order) and u'll get the real results.

Once i found some funny free domain namesm and guest what? those where indexed 1-2 day after the registration. A couple of weeks later, gone.

Also, with another site
1. Thursday: .com Registration, Site design and upload.
2. Friday: Got a couple of links
3. Saturday: Main page on Google
4. Monday-Tuesday: 1st-5th place rankings on different keywords.

10 days later. Dropped, no even one page indexed. hehe....it was funny but not useful.

Hi Kyo,
I appreciate your comments.
These websites has been there now for a 3 weeks period, so I’m starting to think that maybe they will crash from G sooner.
It’s funny but not useful as you said. Is there any magic that help to keep the positioning right there for a long time?

We have noticed that sites we put up lately get indexed and ranked very quickly. Often within days. We recently had one within 10 days. Seems like Google's promise to add more datacenters is moving forward.

Just speculation. The last year, getting ranked was painfully slow. Seems to have speed up significantly over the last three months or so.

We have just launched a few new sites that were indexed and up with lightning speed. They even received a nice PR for about 3 months then dropped from a 5 to a 4 after that.... I couldn't have hoped for more in such a short term....

Of course we all would like to think that us <hand coders> played a role in that somehow ;)
