I'm sure there are others out there that have asked themselves this very same question, but not bothered to investigate to get the "real" answer.
So, here goes...
(I'm using a domain here, but it's expired, so please leave it so the exercise makes sense).
Yahoo says approx: 520
MSN says approx 12
BUT NOTE that Yahoo also says: 1-15 of about 520 AND at the end of the listing it says "In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the ones already displayed.
If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included."
Now, here is the hypothesis and questions:
Comparing Yahoos ( 1-15 of about 520 AND MSN's 12 ) the two engines basically agree. This makes me wonder about Yahoo's statement ...
In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the ones already displayed.
I used to just think that Yahoo was much slower than MSN in getting backlinks processed (and still think he may be), but I now believe that one needs to understand Yahoo statement about 1-15 of about 520
stuff!
Anyone care to share the REAL answer on how to make the proper interpretation and comparison between Yahoo and MSN in this case?
(please... don't give a hoot about what Google says so stick with Yahoo and MSN -- they both have the linkdomain: command)
