Is it quite normal for Google to list searches from other SE in their SERP's? It’s just I had never seen it before.
Many thanks

It's not so normal these days.
Google wants to send people to content matches which match the users' queries - not to more search results (there could even be a loop) or even to splash pages.
There are so economical reasons why they wouldn't want to promote NineMSN (Which I still quote as the biggest example of search co-branding that I know. Not sure how long it can last.)
It's in other search engine interests to be included by Google, though. So many try. I think Answers.com does the best at this at the minute and I think they do well because they very successfully blur the line between content and search.
