Question in regard to page indexing

Hi,

I am pretty new to SEO, and I own my site for 4 month now.
It seems like I am working my way up pretty well so far (top 10 in MSN, keeps improving on google), but there is something I am really not sure about.

If I would like to promote a page on my site which is not the home page on SE, do I need to work on "Off Site SEO" for this page as well as for my home page? Or that it's enough to work on "On site SEO" for this page while the work on "Off site SEO" for the main page will do it's work for the other pages as well?

If your internal linking structure is good you shouldn't HAVE to get external links to inner pages, but if you can you should ;-)

So as long as my pages is indexed (and it is) by the SE it has it's chance upon my "on page seo" to work its way up the SE scale?

So it means that I did not do as good as a job on this page as I did on my home page?? :eek:
