Hello,
I have been trying to educate myself in SEO for the past couple of months through this forum and many other resources on the net (and I'm going to the SES conference next week in NYC - hopefully that will help too!). I run an e-commerce site with over 8000 products and we are having a hard time getting it to show up in the organic results on all search engines. My boss has posed a few questions to me and my initial reaction is to say no to both, but I wanted to run them by the experts here before giving a definite answer.
1- Does the server where you are hosting affect your ability to be listed at all? (dedicated vs a shared server w/ 450 other domains)
2- Does the programming language affect the ability of your site to show up in organic listings? Our site is coded in ColdFusion, do ASP sites have a better chance? (I'm not talking about the number of variables in the query string - just the language itself)
Again, I am fairly certain the answer to both of these questions is no, but I just wanted to check.
Thanks so much!
Christine
