With the blessings of the Forums Editor Elisabeth, David and I have crafted the following guidelines for content within this sub-forum. In order to keep the forum area about what it initially was created for: discussion about established Directories and Search Engines not already "worthy" of their own area, we present the following guidelines for this section.
The “Other Search Engines and Directories” area of Search Engine Watch Forums is reserved for discussions about other established directories and search engines that are out there and that do not have their own area within our forums. Please refer to the lists below before posting about a search engine or directory in this forum area. If you feel we have missed any major directories or SE's not already otherwise represented, feel free to IM Dave or me and we may add them, as time permits.
We ask that if you have a new directory or search engine, that you place your announcement in the BETA Test (http://forums.searchenginewatch.com/forumdisplay.php?f=50) area in order to ask people for their opinions. It is highly recommended that you take the time to create a formal introduction, and try to highlight why you feel the directory or search engine is worthy of introduction and discussion. Repeated links and/or seemingly “fly-by” posts will most likely be deleted by the BETA Test Moderator.
(Added 12/06) If you feel that your directory or search engine truly belongs on this list due to its traffic or user numbers, please IM Chris Boggs, David Wallace, or Greg Hartnett.
Our list of established directories includes the following: (note that DMOZ (http://forums.searchenginewatch.com/forumdisplay.php?f=9) and the Yahoo Directory (http://forums.searchenginewatch.com/forumdisplay.php?f=37) are not listed because they have their own area in this forum)
