Who has any info on this? I just found this site today by studying Jeeves 10Q report. Is Dell promoting this portal?

The Dell portal now accounts for about 6% of MyWay's traffic according to Alexa ratings. I suspect this is going to go a lot higher. I think the box makers are going to become big players in the portal business. From what I see HP has a deal with Netscape (my new HP computer's default home page is Netscape's portal) and Dell has a deal with MyWay.

I bet I am the only person on the planet that thinks Yahoo and MSN won't win the portal game and that the big computer box makers will eventually win this game
From today's Ask Jeeves 10Q report -
• Co-Branded Portal. We built and operate a customized portal for Dell, Inc. at Dell.MyWay.com using the content modules and technology we developed for our own sites. We share the ad revenues generated by the portal with Dell, including results page ad revenues generated by searches originating from the co-branded portal.

Have a new Dell XP. At first it ran with no problem. Suddenly, the MyWay thing appeared in Internet Explorer with an incomplete senseless message which could not be removed. Various other weird gliches have appeared ever since MyWay entered our machine.
Is there some way to rectify this or simply go back to the older Internet Explorer which I am familiar with.
Thank you for your help.

The MyWay Search Assistant is a browser hijacking software that came pre-installed on my Dell system. It frequently is trying to change my default Internet Explorer home page to this:
www.dell4me.com/mywaybiz
I have installed Microsoft Anti-SPyware software found here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=321cd7a2-6a57-4c57-a8bd-dbf62eda9671&displaylang=en
MyWay Search Assistant cannot be removed via control panel. I have tried to remove it and upon reboot, the program appeared back in control panel and now there is no "remove" button. I booted my PC in safe mode and verified that the program is still actively re-directing my browser without my confirmation even AFTER I supposedly removed it from the control panel. Spybot, Adaware, Microsoft Anit-spyware, all cannot remove this program at the moment.
I urge everyone who reads this to think twice before purchasing a Dell computer with pre-installed hijacking software that is not removable. I suggest building your own PC and forgoing the nuisance and wasted time I have gone through. Dell wants to charge me money for technical support to remove the software! This is no joke; I called Dell and they actually want me to pay for support time to remove their own browser-hijacking software.
Needless to say I have informed my IT department and my boss of this and I am suggesting the return of my PC to dell and for my company to seriously think about future purchases from Dell.
You can find more information by doing simple searches; here is one that explaines the exploit used to make the "remove" button vanish from the control panel rendering the software non-removable:

To Dell: Re-think your position on this, is all I can say. I have read internet reports of the denial of spyware but I have actual proof of browser hijacking and it is easy to prove. This is not right.
