Hey Folks.

We use to publish a print magazine called ATOMIC Magazine. It website was very well trafficed at atomicmag.com It has some really good search engine and keyword placement.

The magazine has folded but we have launched a new venture at retroradar.com. We still have full control of bothe the domain and hosting from atomicmag.com Before the search engine listing get too old. We were thinking about pointing the atomicmag.com doman directly to the retroradar.com domain. The have a link on the page for all of the old content.

Any thoughts to the pros and cons from the SEO point of view of this concept?

We would be very open to any other ideas of caturing the traffic to the old site to the new one.

Thanks

You can either set up a 301 permanent redirect which will simply direct any traffic from the first domain to the second. However, if you want to keep an archive of the old site up, then simply a link on the home page directing people to new venture should suffice.
