We manage a number of clients thus have the need for a client center style set up.

We are signed up with the beta, but have yet to start configuring our account mainly for two reasons.

#1 Every time we try to do something we get an error message, so we are not certain if MSN is really ready for us or is worth the time to set up.

#2 We don't want to start configuring our account campaigns using the wrong strategy and have to change it all in a couple months.

I have read the MSN postings, but didnt see anything regarding a master account or agency style account feature. Have you?

Thanks

Discovery

No, and when I asked about it a few weeks ago on the phone the response was silence, then, "I'll pass your request on to the right people" or something to that effect.

hi GuyFromChicago and Discovery,
i asked around about a client center feature and it is possible to do something like this. you can create an account for each of your clients. that way you can bill them separately, and you can also assign different users access to different accounts. there are different levels of access as well, and you would be the main admin with access to all the accounts.

let me know if this helps - if you want more info, there's more about this in the adCenter helpfile, or just let me know.

as for your #1 point -- i hear you on this and i know it's frustrating. we have to deal with downtime too, as we're also in the tool all day. unfortunately while we're in pilot, the team is constantly making system updates. since it's an ongoing thing we can't send out advance notice. i know that is probably not what you want to hear but we are aware of the frustration. :(

let me know how it goes.

thanks,
adCenter

Client center features will be very important to many of us here.

And even though I may blow some steam from time to time, I understand we are working in a beta system and downtime is expected. It's a small inconvenience to endure in exchange to be some of the first to go up the MSN Adcenter learning curve.

I will attempt to set up a client center style arrangement and post my findings here.

My company Lead Discovery is very excited about the launch of MSN Adcenter and to finally have an alternative to G and Y!.

OK the rest of you; I'm not brown nosing.. really it is or will be a great day when there are 3 legitimate ad networks to work with.

adCenter411 -

when I think of housing separate accounts under a master login, one of the most requested features is to allow each account to have its own billing/credit card.

Our MSN account is setup to house/bill clients separately, and with MSN invoicing this works great. However, going forward, there will be some clients who want to use their own cards in these systems, and having the ability to link those as well to a master account is very useful (especially when you start getting into how MSN's API accesses accounts and the user verification).

I've already had requests from advertisers for us to manage their MSN beta accounts. These individuals have their own cards, invoicing, etc. However, I don't like having dozens of logins to a system when there could be a master interface. So, the ability to add an existing account within the master interface will also be a need as the program expands beyond beta.

I think with the introduction of MSN even more small businesses will start to farm out the management of their online marketing. This means all SEM products must have very robust client center functions.

One concern I have is that I can't determine how my accounts may be linked.
If I am managing two companies accounts and both are in the rubber nail business I will be using very similar ads and many of the same keywords.

How can I be sure one account is not trumping the other.
