I have a site that has been up for about 3 months. Question is, how do we get google to give us PR. I have optimized for keywords, have a decent number of reciprocal and one way links (via posting articles, link exchanges, etc). Still, the toolbar shows PR of 0.

I'm really confused about this b/c it looks like we are doing everything right. Another question, is it possible Google missed us in the last update? Our pages are definitely indexed, the only piece missing is PR.

Also, how often does Google do updates?

Appreciate the help!

Keep working at getting One-way links and recips with Quality sites within your niche.

As for why you have no PR - Google updates the Google PR tool bar only once ever so often.....2-6 months. So in reality you might already be a PR 3 or PR4, but the toolbar won't show this until the next update. Just remember that the toolbar PR is not the PR you have on your site at this exact moment.....the PR toolbar is said to display the PR a certain site had 2 months ago . It basically is a little behind....so use it just as an indicator.

thanks for the help. Would you be able to shed any light on how often Google does its updates. Currently all my sites and pages are listed in the major SE's.

Thanks for your help.

Well probably the next PR update will be within a month or two. Probably by end of Jan. Just remember that is just an indicator...If you site pops up a PR4 that will not shoot it in the rankings.....all this shows is that you have probably been a PR4 for awhile since the Pagerank bar is delayed and not accurate.

All the PR bar indicator does is show others where you stand and might help in Link Exchanges and such.

Here's a good list of the history of PageRank Exports (http://www.seocompany.ca/pagerank/page-rank-update-list.html) (I still say update, but that isn't really correct). That also shows other "Exports" like back links.

Remember, as stated above, the toolbar PageRank is just a snap shot of your apparent PR at some point in the past.

Hope that helps.
