I've noticed google is removing hundreds of thousands of indexed pages from leading sites from different verticles...

anyone else notice google is throwing out lots of indexed pages?

page counts are going way down... you can check datacenters now its happening as i write this post...

its affecting me and and many others ..

I'm seeing it go on on these primariliy (for many sites)

I've witnessed it on my own site, the largest one that we have. We have had a solid presence in Google for three years, and even moved up from #6 to #3 in the last week under our strongest search term. 90% of the pages are no longer listed. We're scrambling over here.

Ive noticed it also on 2 of my large forums -


70% decrease innumber of indexed pages.

Were these duplicates (printer friendly, etc)? I've noticed Google is finally removing many many pages I 404'ed in January.
