Could do with some advice - our website is hosted in the US, we have several subdomains (for each country) such as uk.widgets.com and fr.widgets.com and we are obviously having problems getting ranked in local listings as we are hosted in the US. We are considering using IP masking on these domains to look like we are hosted locally. What are the chances google etc knowing we are masking the IP and penalizing us? Also if they did find out and decide to block us would they block just the sub domain or the whole lot?

Could really do with some advice as we are doing fine in th US listings and dont want to screw that up by ip masking our other sites.
