Hello, my first post here thanks to a Google search ;)

I searched the forum but didn't find the answer to my question, so I'll ask:

Many sites have a "back to top" anchor link at the bottom of the page. In some cases an image and some cases text, like "Top." In regards to SEO, does it make a difference? I was wondering if the link at the bottom should point to the main text of the page, like an article title. Hopefully that makes sense...

Anyways, if anyone has any advice related to the often used <a href="#top">, please let me know!

BTW... any other (recommended) forums that I might ask this question?

Thanks!

Carlos, the link back to the top is mainly a convenience for site visitors, and while there hasn't ever been much discussion about it, there have always been some people that made use of anchored links as one of their components in SEO.

Best advice is to try "optimizing" those links a few different ways and see if you find that it makes a difference for you.
