Hi Guys/Gals;),

I am wondering how I can gain a ranking on dmoz, I've tried without success for 6 months, our website as unique mobile phone news so can't see why we can't get listed on dmoz, we are selling mobile phones, ringtones, o2 mobile phones, sony ericsson mobile phones, and mobile phone insurance.
Need any help I can get. http://www.mobile-phones4u.net

All I can tell you is to get in line with the rest of us. There are just some categories that are backlogged there--it takes time.

I wouldn't say it's got too much chance. The first thing an editor will probably do is click on that link at the bottom that says "Affiliates," read the page, click on the Join button and that'll most likely be the end of it.

Gee whiz, how many forums are you going to post this same question in?

Anyway I answered one of your other posts.

Since then I looked at your site. My opinion is it's not listable. But I don't review phone sites.

Best advice for submitting to DMOZ is to do it correctly and then move on. ;)

If you get listed - great but many, many sites are never listed either because the editors that preside over the category you submitted to are not active, there is a huge backlog of other sites waiting to be reviewed or they simply did not deem your site qualified for the directory.

I'm with macdesign --- unlikely to ever get listed.
