Until about a week ago, Yahoo has been very kind to all of my websites. Now my main website has been dropped way back into the SERPS. Its still fully indexed, but ranks for virtually nothing. Before, we had thousands of top 3 rankings, several for highly competitive terms.

The site doesn't participate in anything that I would consider spam, and I am very conservative. We have more useful information than any website in our industry, and our site is faster, cleaner, and better looking than 99% of the websites that we compete against.

Has anyone else experienced a similar change in Yahoo. It seems that for all of the terms that we were dropped for, the SERPS are now cluttered with random forum posts, craigslist ads, and poor spammy sites.

My instinct and past experience tells me to wait it out, but this is ridiculous. I emailed yahoo, and got a canned email back about quality content, nothing even worth reading.

Any suggestions would be appriciated.

The website is in my profile

Hey there,

I can tell you that I had a great surprise when I saw this morning that all the pages that ranked well on yahoo now don't rank for any jeywords, they are even under the top 100... Eveything was really fine up until today. My guess would be that they are in some update or crawling, indexing update. A lot of the sites that come up in the keywords I am watching now are ODp clones, or the ODP itself (dmoz, google version, any other versions,) are all ranking on the first page. I made a lot of template changes and updated my whole site in the past two weeks, changing every bit of content, (total rewrite) so I'm guessong that yahoo os now crawling it and digesting the new pages before reintegrating them in the SERPS.

Did you make a lot of changes lately?

Made a few, but nothing major, and nothing that would be considered abnormal for the site.

We did have a single term start ranking well again this morning. Luckily it is our top term, but so far it is the only one. I am really hoping that this is some sort of a temporary shift. We have seen Yahoo do similar in the past, but nothing this significant.

After looking at the result pages for a lot of search terms, I cant believe that this would be a permanent shift. The top 20 are loaded with absolute garbage for many phrases.

Well, I checked today on yahoo, and all my pages are out of the top 100 serps. For all the pages i'm monitoring, they are all gone!

I made a lot of changes recentrly, like I said I rewrote most pages and changed the template of the entire site, so my first guess was that yahoo might be re-indexing and re-crawling my site, but Im I too naive?

Anyone else as seen his site disappear like that, is it coming back in the serps?

Ahhh...
