Hello All,
I am the marketing guy for http://www.vitalsourceinc.com. Mgmt wants to increase rankings, our business is really specific. We basically get business via part-number searching. Our inventory and line items change everyday. How do we submit to sites like google etc... if our site is always changing.
For example another site like our called us-bid (http://www.usbid.com) always comes up on google.
Here are a couple partnumbers to show what I am talking about.
go to google and type in these partnumbers.

After reviewing the site it appears they cataloged all these partnumbers because the page scrolls forever...
Any tips or suggestions would be great.

Thank you,
Pete

Pete - I've got to confess I still don't know what you're talking about. I looked at your site and I truly cannot tell from the home page what you sell. There's a diagram, and there was some Flash, but there's practically no actual text content on your home page to tell either me or a search engine what it is that you do.

I did a Google site search (of your site) for the first part number you mention above. Google says it doesn't exist on your site. On the rest of Google, 209 pages are returned that include this number. That's not very competitive. But, unless the part number is on your site in html text form, it's not likely that Google, or anyone else, is going to figure out that that's what you sell.

The usbid site is very clear on its homepage about what it sells in general terms, and on the page returned in Google it's got the specific part number you mention. The page includes a long scrolling list to be sure, but in this context that's a perfectly OK way to include the number, and the site itself seems to be very well planned.
