I was checking the number of links pointing to my website and got when searching for Link: www.nameofwebsite.com 75 links, whereas when I search for: www.nameofwebsite.com -site:www.nameofwebsite.com the number of links was: 229.
This doesn´t make any sense.
Does anybody know if Google is changing its link algorithm or something?

That's not a link search. That'll bring up anything that mentions the site. I get hundreds of them due to RSS feeds. It's not the same.

Jorge, you won't get anything from Google for backlinks that'll be helpful. Try checking at Yahoo. link:http://www.example.com

Still, my number of links in Google (searching link: www.nameofwebsite.com) dropped from approximately 400 in june to 200 in july..
Any explanation for that?

Jorge, only Google can explain that. I would not put so much emphasis on the Google link count.
