Hi

I wonder if anyone can advise please.

I have a .com domain name and I have also bought the co.uk name too. I am wondering whether to swap the whole thing over i.e. publish the same site as a co.uk and start to ignore the com.

The reason for this is I have noticed that almost all my visitors are from outside the Uk where I want my customers to come from and I think this is also stopping conversions. Do you think the .com extension is doing that?

Although I realise I would have to start from scratch with the search engines etc my site is fairly new so it won't matter that much to me. However, I don't want it to confuse google etc especially as google seem to be one of the only search engines not spidering my site for whatever reason.- another issue.

Anyway, does anyone have any thoughts on the impact of doing this please?

Thanks very much

Sonja

It might make more sense then to publish relatively new content on the co.uk site, put it on a server in the UK and see how that works out.

Thanks for your reply.

I'm a bit ignorant of some of this stuff. Can I ask please, are you saying where the server is makes a difference or is it more to do with the .com extension?

I am under the impression that both play a part, so if you can, get the .co.uk hosted over in the UK.
