I’ve notice a decrease (50% less) on the Adsense report ($) during this month while the site’s getting the quantity of traffic. Any of you having the same Adsense behavior? :confused:

Has the change been in the number of impressions, the clicks or the CTR? Or just the earnings lower?
I've noticed the same thing - the 2nd week of August my earnings were a lot higher than any other week with about the same number of visitors. I don't make a lot on Adsense, but the last 2 weeks of August have been about 1/2 the earnings of the second week with only slightly less visitors.

I suspect there's a three month cycle with Adsense earnings varying up and down that corresponds to SE updates. I've noticed it on sites that update infrequently and that have very consistent traffic. Since none of the sites generates significant Adsense income, I haven't bothered to track it in detail but, to me, revenue seems to have been cyclic for a year or more.

There are also seasonal factors that come into play. Last summer was hazy, lazy days with not much $ and this July and August have been record high months. Of course, there are more total pages and a couple more sites out there than there were last year, but the trend is night and day from last summer, even with just looking at the site that's been about the same all along.

Hi Marcia;
Those are the numbers:
July2005: Totals Page Impressions 14,629/Clicks 509/Page CTR 3.5%
August2005: Totals Page Impressions 13,686/Clicks 281/Page CTR 2.1%
I don´t make a lot of Adsense, but the traffic is pretty much similar...I think.

if the ads are on a community based site then the site visitors may have became more accustomed to tuning out the ads as time passes?

Good question!
I think so, but I’ve been running Adsense since may05 and it has been "average" since then, except last month when it growths with too many clicks.
What I’m thinking is that Google probably hear something about Yahoo Search Marketing and something happened.

Try tweaking the ads a little bit with colors, and placement too if possible, to try to raise the CTR a bit. Their hot spot hints really do work, and sometimes decreasing the number of ads displayed can make a difference.

I've also noticed a drop in earnings the last few days, allthough it seems to be getting back to normal again. Something funny I've also noticed is the BIG difference in Google impressions and my AWSTATS for the same pages. Does anyone know what factors contribute to this?

Great idea Marcia ... I just did it on my website.
I’ll let you know how it works on the coming days.
