Out of all the cookie deletion articles I have read or blogged about recently, I like this one the best, as it starts to address various solutions that the online ad industry can take to try to counteract this growing trend.

Media Strategies Editor Jim Meskauskas profiles the industry's growing panic about consumer cookie perception and the actions they take as a result.

"It is my sincerest hope that some of you out there are reading this now, and can find among the mish-mash of modest proposals the seeds for a solution we can all live with -- both those of us working in this business and the consumer, without whom none of us could be here.

Below I propose six possible means by which to address this important issue. Maybe somewhere in one of them, or by synthesis of several of them, we can figure this out."

He goes on to outline 6 potential solutions:

Related cookie news, not big enough for it's own thread so will tack it on here.

Just read on another forum that the new Zone Alarm update quarantines or deletes (based on your settings )CJ, Linkshare and Befree affiliate tracking cookies now too. ZoneAlarm is pretty popular. This sucks!

More cookies news. Looks like if everyone could agree on how big the problem is we could move forward with solutions. However all the articles I see are concerned with ad tracking cookies. No one ever seems to talk about our precious affiliate cookies.
