hi,

i was wondering if google or any other SE kicks
sites that contain keywords surrounded by
<span style="display:none">keywords</span>???

does anyone has experiences with this method?

I'd say as a general rule, trying to make the spiders see something your users can't will come back and bite you, eventually.

Yes, that would definitely be considered SPAM just by definition alone

I am sure that it would be considered spam if there was no way for users to ever see it, but often this type of div may have the class changed by a script when it is used as a dynamic menu system etc, so that users can see it.

I am also pretty sure that this type of thing is not detected algorithmically, it either needs a spam report or getting caught in one of Googles sporadic spam campaigns for them to take action.

thanx for ya feedback... some sites i´ve seen
use this to get a higher ranking and it works out.
but you´re right - they won´t last long...
