Hello
My website is http://www.myxv6600.com I have read for weeks and months this forum and others and have a few websites up and going. I am using htis site to try and perfect my SEO skills and as of now am failing. My key words i am looking for are "xv6600" "audiovox xv6600" and thats pretty much it. I have set my page up with the right key words in headers and bold, i have a rss feed i am trying to update that is also listed on my.yahoo page, i have a blog up at blogger .com being updated and linking back to my site, i have a few text links but not many on other site, I am trying to provide more content but being that this sit eis based around the forum i need the Audiovox XV6600 users to be able to find it before the content is built up a lot. I also have posted on various other forums with the address and key ords in my signature. I have now made a total of $3.30 in affiliate sale :) and worked 100's of hours. I am getting so beat and confused. What do I do? I can not even get into to the top 100 in google for xv6600? any help at all would be great.

Thanks
CC

1. Get more links, good ones are better than so so ones.

2. Stop the 302 redirect from your homepage

3. Site loads slow as slow can be, might be the loading stuff from external sites , either way it needs to be faster

4. You have a little too much repetition of xv6600 for my tastes

5. "I am trying to provide more content but being that this sit eis based around the forum i need the Audiovox XV6600 users to be able to find it before the content is built up"

It don't work that way.

6. Never, ever, ever give up

7. Welcome to SEW!

Haven't looked at the site so this isn't personal ;-)

Affiliates seem to be in disfavour these days, particularly if there's not enough original content, if you're waiting for others to supply it, that could be your problem.

Why don't you refocus on your forum? Make that the home page when I come in, change your title to something like Audiovox VX6600 Forum rather than just the name or something more catchly like a name for the site plus a description: VXChange -- The Audiovox VX6600 Forum. Then people might better understand why they might want to come to you -- to talk. Then you build up some original content, and you might be a bit more appealing to the search engines, especially if others consider you linkworthy, as Eric Ward likes to call it. Welcoming to the fun, exciting and frustrating world of SEO! :)

I did a link analysis on your site and it looks like you have but 1 static link coming in - and only Yahoo! has indexed it. I can say with a high degree of certainty that this is your stumbling block. If you purchased text links, they will not work if they are dynamic. Your forum sig posts links may also dynamically redirect and not count. Furthermore, signature text links are considered extremely low valued links.

You seem to be forgetting that modern search engine algorithms are primarily based around citation theory. MOST major search engines rely on citation theory as the core of their algorithms (If I am incorrect, Danny please step in).
This means that other web pages vote for your's by casting out a vote in the form of link. The value of your page is measured by an equation evaluating the quality and quantity of your citations (votes/links).

The problem is you don't have any votes in the form of inbound links!

Now you must take a proactive stance when seeking link partners. I suggest you research the topic of link building (via an engine or threads here on SEW). I find it one of the most fascinating and effective components of off site optimization.

Some quick ways to get strong inbound links in 7 days or less:
1. List in quality directories such as Yahoo! If your budget is limited, use 2nd tiers such as bCentral, JoeAnt, BOTW.org, GoGuides, etc.
2. List in topical niche directories related to your industry.
3. Buy text link advertisements.
4. Let others know you exist and have something of quality to offer. Network within your sphere.

WARNING: Overagressive link building can get you banned. Do your homework first!

And finally, avoid the biggest mistake newbie SEO's make. Use your keywords as the anchor text within a hyperlink whenever possible.

Hey Promedia, can you give and example or elaborate on this a little

If your keyword phrase is "Green Widgets", you want to optimize that keyword phrase. This is done by hyperlinking it to your site. For example,

Green Widgets top quality, now 50% off by XYZ Company.

If you anchor text was XYZ Company, then you only optimize the keyword phrase "XYZ Company".

Clear?
