Right now I am in the process of creating several content sites that will promote my main sites and funnel traffic to my main sites.

These sites will be properly optimized with fresh and useful content.

I’m looking at cheaper shared hosting packages to host these sites, such as: http://www.liquidweb.com/shared/plan1.htm

This account allows me to add 2 web sites to the same hosting account.

The 2 sites…

1. Will NOT link to each other.
2. Will promote different sites in different industries.

Based on your knowledge, will the fact they are hosted on the same account affect their ranking on Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc?

Thanks

hi 4cl, welcome

I dont think it has that much to do with if they are hosted on the same server or not. I think it has more to do with their IP addresses.

If they share an IP address and are competing on keywords, in my experience they will not both rank highly. It will be the one with the higher PR that will.

My question to you though is "Why?". Why spend so much time, money and effort on creating seperate sites if all you can do is write quality articles for the one main site and concentrate on link building.

Hope that helps.
