Our firm has decided to offer Affiliate services as an additioanl services to our clients and are ina fix as to how we can go about it.
We would like to know which web application we should use to handle all our clients at the same time or if there is any such applicdation?
I would like one which we can integrate with our website and as part of our system.
pls I do need a little assitance/guidance to get started..
wish me luck.
Thanks in advance.
What exactly do you mean when you say "affiliate services"?
Do you mean having your own private-label version of MyAffiliateProgram, (or similar) you can offer your customers?
Or helping your customers choose the appropriate affiliate script or service for their needs and get set up with it?

yes exactly..
I'd like to offer Affliliate services to our client who wants to start their Affiliate program.
We would run their affiliate campaign and manage payouts and everything..
This would be an additional servives under our wings...
Is there any program or online application which would help me manage all my client's Affiliate campaign..
Okay, it sounds like you'd be interested in setting up your own service like affiliatetracking.com, myaffiliateprogram.com, directtrack.com ...etc.
Short of coding your own solution, you can often resell other people's services. Visit those sites and see if they have that as an option.
I know you can get a private label version of 1shoppingcart.com which includes affiliate tracking amongst a load of other features.
Last time I checked, in that instance it's $10,000 to get a private label of the 1shoppingcart service - they continue to host it and support users, and I believe you get to keep 50% of the revenue.
Perhaps you could purchase an existing affiliate script and install/customize it on your own servers for customers - if that's in keeping with the terms of license for the software of course. Or approach the author directly with an offer for your needs.
Two proven affiliate scripts I know of are Post Affiliate and iDev Affiliate.

Hi
If your present core services are development based (not sure you didn't say), then I would be tempted to go with an inhouse system which you could build into your clients sites, that eliminates all the costly fees of getting private label set ups etc and gives you full control of your system.
As luz Suggested Post Affiliate and iDev Affiliate, that said many shopping software systems come with built in Aff systems or modules that can be plugged in and allow the program to be run inhouse that way.
Cheers
Chris

we are very much a development company as well..
so you suggest developin' a Affiliate program in-house instead of goin' for a built private label..
well we would do that eventually shift to our own program, but initially thinkin' of using already built system..
what do you suggest...
The problem with starting with one affiliate system and moving later is often that means changing links, which is a real pain for affiliates, and for the person who's running the affiliate program. Unless you develop a system that has exactly the same style of link pointing to exactly the same domain.
The downside of developing your own system is the time involved and bug fixing, security issues...etc. The benefit is that everything's under your control.

thanks for being so supportive...
what if I buy the Post Affiliate or iDev Affiliate software and customise it for our requirement, wouldn't that work for us..
like you said. developin' a system would take lotta time developin' n testin' it...better if we can buy and then customise it...
You wouldn't be able to buy the software and then turn it into a service/solution for your customers since I imagine that would break the terms of the software. However, perhaps contact the developer directly with what you have in mind and ask them to name a price.
As far as I know iDev Affiliate is actually encoded (Zend or Ioncube I believe) so you wouldn't be able to change any of the code in that case anyway.
