What is the best search term to use at Yahoo or MSN to check the links?

Heres what I use for both (with firstgov.gov as an example):

link:http://firstgov.gov -site:firstgov.gov

The link commands on everything EXCEPT Google actually seem fairly accurate.

Here are my rules of thumb - make sure you pay attention to the fact there are no spaces, the "s" for Teoma, and the http:

Yahoo
link:http://www.yourdomain.com

MSN
link:http://www.yourdomain.com

Ask/Teoma
links:http://www.yourdomain.com

Google
Give up. Or Use Yahoo ;) Technically, it's link:http://www.yourdomain.com

Adding the "-site:yourdomain.com" removes your own site form the backlinks, which can be helpful.

Another method which I believe is more thorough for finding links at Yahoo!:

linkdomain:yourdomain.com

removing the http://www ensures all links with "yourdomain.yourextension" in them are found

For a site I just checked, the link:http://www version showed 1750 back links and the entire domain search showed 2250...
