There are tons of articles written up on this already, so I will link to them below. But first let me show you them quickly...

Zoom: Search Ask for the beatles (http://web.ask.com/web?q=%22the+beatles%22&qsrc=0&o=0) and look at the right side of the page. "Narrow Your Search", "Expand Your Search" and "Related Names" make up the zoom feature.

Web Answer: Search Ask for deadliest snake (http://web.ask.com/web?q=deadliest+snake&qsrc=1&o=10234) and see [Web Answer] in red. You can then click through to the three other Web answers to see 3 groups of answers (http://web.ask.com/dafs?q=deadliest+snake&o=10234&qsrc=1).

The SmartSearch page (http://static.wc.ask.com/docs/announcements/searchsmarter.html) doesn't have info on this.

"Zoom" is not a new technology.
Broadmining.com had the technology first.
