I'm kinda trying to work backwords. I would like to create high traffic websites, but I am extremely flexible on the topic of these websites. The Idea is to first figure out what people are actually searching for. Not this weeks trends, but search terms that have done consistantly well over the last year. I don't want to have to take a wild guess and run it through word tracker. I want the avarage top 1000 search terms to give me ideas. All of the sites and tools I have found will give me this weeks top 100 fad words or this weeks top increases. I just want the big list calcualted over a decent length of time (6 mos to a year+). Anyone know where I can get that kind of data?

I saw a presentation from Claria at a conference last week, and they are starting to sell historical search data that they gathered via their client-side app on 30-40M desktops.

maybe try hitwise or keyword discovery.

Thanks,
I have been using keyword discovery. I got a membership to Priority submit. While the Data is good, it still requires me to guess what might be a good keyword. You can't get any data without first typing in a keyword. If there is a way just to get the raw list of most popular words as discribed above, I don't know how. The idea is I don't want to guess I just want to see what the to 1000 words are and then see if there is anything I think I can use. I want the list to give me ideas, not discover if my ideas are any good. I hope this makes sense. It is surprisingly difficult information to find. :(

hitwise might have good data on that. you might want to ask them.

You asked, so we made it so.

keywordDiscovery.com now offers this sort of keyword data via:
Keyword Reports (http://www.keyworddiscovery.com/keyword-reports.html)

Where we provide raw search terms and their respective search counts as collected by us over the past 12 months.

There are 4 report size options:

top 10,000 most popular keywords
top 20,000 most popular keywords
top 100,000 most popular keywords
top 500,000 most popular keywords

You can also order the same reports but for the last month only if you prefer.

Enjoy.

Cheers
David
