We have read both Don Crowther's The Pay Per Click Money Machine & Perry Marshall's Ultra Google Adwords courses.

What we don't have...is the time to do everything they call for.

We need your help.

And we are wondering how to find it...here.

Our monthly budget is $5K

Thanks Toby

Wow, a test of the Google Advertising Professionals program (or maybe so, at least)!

Wishing you superb results, tobybeavers!

Lol.... I am a Google Professional - though still waiting for my little banner!

I think with a $5k you may have a hard time getting someone to run the campaign where it would be worthwhile to both parties....
Any campaign needs to be measured (even using the Google tracking tools), creatives written and tweaked, landing pages worked with and then the bids have to be played with.
If you are doing all this you can be spending a couple of hours a day... so minimum you are most probably going to pay a decent person say 800-1k a month on top.

Aussie they do not send u the logo, but it rests somewhere in your account where you can download it.

as far as looking for someone with the logo I am not sure that it really means all that much yet at this point. you might be able to find someone to help you but I think Aussie is probably right on the money with a low end of quality service coming in at about a grand.

If they were looking to spend 5k a month for someone to oversee the campaign that could be a different situation.
I reread and thought it was another interpretation of the request.
Given that any campaign should realisitically be open ended on spend if it is a profitable one.

it is frustrating how many people miss that.

How do you charge to run a PPC program?

I've been around the block a long time (but not a paid member for long); yet one never really hears how SEO charge for PPC.

Please chime in so we all can learn and hire you... :D

Personally I think it is a really *bad* idea for professional firms to share all of their thinking about how they charge, and for what, in an open forum.

Generally speaking it comes back to ROI.

At this point I should recuse myself from the discussion since this type of work is what my firm does. Check out lists of SES speakers and moderators on leading forums (not just this one) and you will find many others.

If it doesn't get me whacked by a moderator I can also tell you that there is one easy way some of us have found to get around the "problem" of a spend like $5k per month that is "too low". (Frankly if that's all you spend then it is fine, and can return a great ROI. My staff and I have had tons of fun working on niche campaigns over the years.) We charge a flat fee for our initial project period, not a percentage of your spend. That flat fee may be high, but if it doubles your ROI over what you could get doing it yourself, and then doubles your volume at a comparable ROI, well you do the math.

Maintenance fees are typically but not always based on a percentage of spend. Then there are issues of scope - how much tracking, is there landing page work, etc etc.

As per usual I agree with you Andrew.... pricing is generally kept somewhat close to the vest... though there are a couple of popular models... flat rates and percentages of spend.
I also think the ROI sees the investment out... and reenforces the zero sum aspect of PPC... if it is making you money why would you stop doing it?
