Hello everyone--I am new to this website and somewhat new to SEO, though I've designed a bunch of websites.
I recently started a small business called Timeless DVD, and created a website for the business at www.timelessdvd.com. To attempt to do website promotion correctly, I've been reading the book "101 Ways to Promote your Website", in particular the chapter about Search Engine Optimization. Many of the tips about emphasizing a few keyword phrases on each web page, using titles, text, etc., are mentioned in this book (tips which I found reiterated on this website too).
However, using these tips have not helped my ranking with Google, which has crawled my website a few times during this optimization process and actually seems to be LOWERING my ranking despite my SEO efforts! Initially, my home page was on the first page of results when one searched for Timeless DVD. Two days ago, it completely dumped my website off page after page of results for when someone searched for that same phrase. The phrase Timeless DVD (my company's name!) comprises the URL, is in the title of the home page, and is in the text repeatedly--so I would hope to at least be on the first page of results!
I am so frustrated and don't know what I'm doing wrong. Is it possible for someone on this page to take a look at my home page and see what the problem is? If I'm spamming keywords, it's completely inadvertent, but I can't see that I am. But that's the only reason I can see as to why Google would crawl my page and subsequently eliminate my site.
If someone can help, please visit www.timelessdvd.com. I would appreciate any help. Thank you very much.
