Is there any way to find out what your keyword competitors are bidding?

Overture

Google AdWords
enter to setup an account and see what price they recommend. please note that this may not accurately reflect their AdWords bid or click price since clickthrough rate helps determine click cost.

But won't that just give you the max CPC to get the top, TOP? It would be helpful to know what each position is paying for since you only pay $0.01 more for that position.

Hi Heidi,
Currently there is no easy way to do that with Google :(,
while ads were ranked on price only You could bid high (for 1st place) and click - this click
would actually cost you 0.01 c more than the competitor that was
in 1st place, from this point you could have reduce cents and repeatedly... but....

Since ads are ranked "based on a combination of its maximum cost-per-click
(CPC) and clickthrough rate (CTR). The higher your CPC or CTR is, the higher your ad's
position will be." (from https://adwords.google.com/select/faq/start.html#7)

and... you don't know your competitor CTR - you could
only assume/get some of the information from the route Aaron suggested.

Good news - this information is easy to get with overture,
and in many cases the situation tends to be similar -

Bad news - not always does the situation tends to be similar...

finally, three words - trial and error - You'll have to start monitoring your performance and adjust
considering ROI, budget and scope of competition.

with google you can keep adjusting the max bid until your position reads 2.0 and 3.0 and 4.0 and so on. again that does not factor in clickthrough rate though.
