View Full Version : Are you using Yahoo! more that this time Last Year?
Has their new algorithms complemented your searching when Google was not ample - or do you just persist and go click on the next SERPs
Yahoo! has grown to the point that it is as relevant in SERPs to Google.

- this was the turning point -
Using this about 50% of the time - and Google - the other 50%, Overall.

dubex (double exclamation point) - My view is that Yahoo! and Google are running about even in terms of relevance, but Google is still a bit fast on finding new pages and ranking them (with the exception of sandboxed sites).
I use Yahoo! much more than I did last year, as I have my.yahoo.com as my homepage currently. I'm thinking about switching permanently to the butler, however. That cat has some awesome tricks up his (well pressed) sleeves.
If by The Butler - (askjeeves) - They (Teoma) have improved in General relevancy too - but That Mindset is extra-ordinary in it's targeted relevancy.

I find I'm using Yahoo a lot more than I used to. I tried a few searches on Teoma/Ask, but I was looking for a game walkthrough for my son and was sent to several sites full of viruses, etc. Yahoo and Google did not present these sites.
Interesting tricks or not, since Teoma's index is smaller than the others, but seems to be more prone to displaying really bad sites, I can't help but feel they have some work before they can be taken seriously. If you have a smaller index than your competitors, the least you can do is make sure it's equal or higher quality!
One other thing - I find I'm using MSN Search a LOT more than I used to, as well.

I just had a client tell me that they were no longer using Google and switching to MSN because they found the results to be more relevant. Funny, though, he still says he "Googles" things.
Did Google JUST Add Scholar to the Homepage as a response to Yahoo's Mindset
That extra link is appearing on about 1 out of every 20 Homepage page views so far
The other pages show the added Picasa link in the middle
This is certainly much easier than creating a new Sliding SERPs tools for a Beta Search page
It just does not seem like a coincidence.
What will MSN do now?
will be using Yahoo more!
