We're looking at the copy on our website and some of the words we use, that used that used to accurately describe our business now have some negative overtones.

We would like to remove these words from our website but continue to bid for them on PPC and advertise, as many potential customers still search under these terms when looking for services such as ours.

I'm wondering if there is any reason a landing page needs to have the relevant keywords included for PPC, or is this only relevant for organic search as one needs to have relevant keywords in order for the spiders to pick them up for rankings.

We would still have the keywords in the ad copy and metatags on our website but not in the actual content of the website.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Not necessarily but with Overture, you should make sure that the terms you are bidding on are related to the site and/or pages you are listing because if they are unrelated, Overture editors could decline your listings.

I see nothing wrong with what you are saying. As long as the keywords your advertising for are relevant, there is nothing wrong with not including the specific word on your landing page.
