can anyone tell how meta keywords and meta description help for google rankings for any site. and how could i find out good meta keywords for my website. My website related to weightloss.

While Google does index the meta description tag, they very seldom display it as your description for any listing you may have in their results so little weight is probably given to it. Even less weight (if any) is given to the keyword meta tag. So while you should still have these components in your web pages, with Google you are better to focus on optimizing title tags, your content itself and acquiring good quality relevant links to your site.
