Dear Experts,

My site has been online for over a year. I am nicely listed in dmoz and the google directory, also in zeal etc. and I have got about 50 sites containing the term of my site (and quite a few links).

However, the link: directory of google is almost empty. The dmoz link, which was previously listed has also disappeared and my site lists somewhere in middle earth.

I have otherwise listened to all issues about google ranking and just cannot make sense of this. Can you?

Did this just happen or has it been like this?

Note: Google's link function doesn't show all links (there's a thread here somewhere about that but I can't find it now) but only some. Offical.

Don't rely on it alone - MSN Beta seems to have covered more backlinks for some sites I have looked at - http://beta.search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=link%3Asearchenginewatch.com&FORM=QBNO for example.

I would recommend check yahoo and beta MSN for your backlinks,
