Alot of times when I'm trading links with other sites, when I need a description for the link, I'll take the first two lines from their homepage. Would this cause any duplicate content problems?

I would go with the info in their title tag....
But no it would not cause duplicate content problems as the rest of your page will have very different content - the programs that recognize duplication actually allow for a certain amount of dupliaction (afterall nav bars use a lot of the same words, as do footers etc.).

iamrussell: Most link harvesting programs get the title and description for the reciprocal link pagement from the pages title and meta description. You may want to check out arelis.com and reciprocalmanager.com for a couple of the best reciprocal link management software packages.

Yeah, I use Arelis but some sites just list a bunch of keywords in their title and description. I like to have my directory not just useful for the bots but useful for my visitors as well.

iamrussell: Well in the case I suggest you export your sites from Arelis and import them into reciprocalmannager.com (RM). RM is problably the best reciprocal link management software around. It is fully automatec. When you send out your emails to prospective reciprocal links clients the system will add a link that will enable them to login and edit there title and description, put in their name and email and add the link request URL that they just give you and when they submit it checks to make sure the link they gave you is up. Every very slick.

Their ad looks very good and the price is great. You can use it on multiple sites. Has anyone else tried it?

Does reciprocalmanager.com spider your link partner's site or does it only check the directory specified?

BlckJack: There is a demo admin control pannel on their site where you can see all the setting. Also I think you can dl the manuel before you puchase the product. But to answer you questions it checks for js redirects, it will can scan the whole site for your link or you can set it just to scan the URL they say the reciprocal link is.

Greetings, this is my first post to the SEW forum.
I purchased ReciprocalManager via PayPal on December 29th. The product was never delivered and I have received nothing but, "Thanks! We'll contact you within 2 days" emails bouncing back from the autoresponder from either ReciprocalManager.com or KevinOcasio.com.
I don't know if he's on extended vacation, health issues, family problems or what, but I would recommend that anyone who's thinking about a purchase of RM first establish a dialog with Mr. Ocasio to satisfy himself that there will be a response to payment.
I have heard nothing but good things about RM. I hope I will have an opportunity to check it out one day, but for the present I have filed a refund claim with PayPal (not expecting much from them either).
This is the first time this has ever happened to me with any self-publisher of software. There is probably a good explanation for it, but it pays to be cautious.
Best regards,
Matt

I bought the product. It isn't a bad piece of software.
It seems to be a one man operation. Support is kind of slow sometimes. I asked for support a week ago and did not receive a reply.

BlckJack: I know the software pretty good what kind of problems you having.
memobug: I will see if I can get ahold of Kevin for you.
If you don't get an action shorting and we can raise up Kevin and you can show me a copy of your payment perhaps I can shoot you the software. I will have think about that one a bit. I think I can raise him up though.
Leave him a message here and see if this works: http://www.reciprocalmanager.com/contact.php
