Hey guys,

I have been using bing MSN, Google & Yahoo...and found bing interface as similar to Google but not Yahoo...although Google is best as compared to rest .....many times Bing was not so useful as when adding match type for keywords in Bing...

Microsoft Advertising has done a fantastic job in developing many of the fundamental building blocks for a great advertising platform. A solid online interface with many of the required reports and features such as excluding and targeting. They have the offline editor "desktop editor" as well as many supporting research tools. They have client center functionality and a fast interface.

Where Bing/Adcenter falls down is classic Microsoft. In the implementation and presentation. Its such a hard thing to put a finger on. It's almost like MP3 players were out for years, but until Apple put their touch on it, they just didn't explode. That midas touch is a combination of making sure required functions are present, blending in a few unexpected functions that you can't believe you lived without, and presenting it in a way that is so simple its almost second nature. Easy to say, easy to point to examples of who has done it, very hard to actually do. Microsofts "programmer's interface" design style still shows through.

Yahoo... a dusty skeleton waiting to be absorbed into Adcenter.

Bing/Adcenter is getting their. They need to clean up the Client account management function. The deliniation between camapaign and account is not always clear. There are at least 50 small mistakes in the navigation and presentation that could be easily fixed. Why they have not done this already is a mystery to me, but ultimately they will and Bing/Adcenter will continue to grow and move into the second most popular advertising platform.

Hay you may get different results if you are not in the UK, if so let me know and I'll post a screen shot, but check this out.

# google.com/search?q=spooks&rls=com.microsoft:*:IE-SearchBox&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=ie7&rlz=1I7GGLL_en-GB

# bing.com/search?q=spooks&src=IE-SearchBox

For those of you that doon't know Spooks is a UK TV show about MI5. But the results Bing gives you are just amazing.

Heres what I get from Bing ~
The first few are links to wikipedia, bbc and TV.com about the show.

Then you get a sub heading saying Spooks episodes listing sites that give you info on the episodes.

Then you get another sub heading, Spooks dvds listing sites that give you dvds of Spooks.

Then you have another sub heading saying Spooks cast, giving you lists of sites that tell you about the characters.

Then you get another sub heading saying Spooks characters giving you lists of sites about the characters.

Then you get another sub heading saying spooks wallpapers yep you got it giving you lists os sites offering wall papers about the show.

Then you get the final sub heading saying learn more about spooks then you get the other pages linked in at the bottom.

Now the fact the term spooks have a few variations to its meaning but that much detail is returned about the show is just amazing. That's 20 links all on the first page, with out me setting and preferances.

Then Bing offers you the same sub headings but as a click related link at the top to save you scrolling.

Google for the same term returns 9 and 1 news result, granted they are about the show, but Bing well out does it for that term.

I never have an issue from Bing.
I was using them when they where Live and since the change over WOW, so much better and odd terms link Facebook to me in the UK again returns split up matches all by headings.

bing.com/search?q=facebook&form=QBRE&filt=all&qs=n

Again if you would like me to post a screen shot let me know.

Jaz :)

I agree - in most cases Bing tends to convert best. It just has nowhere near enough traffic!

There's a good article on that here actually:

we know google has the volume but bing gets you cheaper conversions - worth adding it
