I am going to build and optimize a Swedish website and will localize it for Sweden.

Can anybody help me to define a strategy for SEO of this website.

Basically I would want to know that do I need to do link building in Swedish language only or English will do to optimize the website on www.google.se

Site needs to have Swedish language content / key phrases and backlinks can be achieved from Sweden directories English (.se), Swedish language (.se, .com or any) and Sweden regional / local directories. Also you can add to the G local center.

Yeah that's right, it should be either set up as a .se domain or else a subdomain for the Swedish part. The sub can be in Sweden even if the main domain is not.

No, It is not a sub domain. It would be a brand new website with brand new domain with .se extension and will be hosted in Sweden only.

Few more things I want to know that

The client wants me to chase keywords on search engines in Swedish language so how should I plan my link building activity for it(almost all the websites accept content in English only). The content will be provided by the client in Swedish.

What happened if someone search the target keyphrases in English language, Will my site be listed in the search results if am targeting my keywords in Swedish language?

Backlinks can be achieved from Sweden directories English (.se), Swedish language (.se, .com or any) and Sweden regional / local directories. Also you can add to the G local center.

Added if you have no idea about Swedish language you can try translating your search keywords related to directories and search in Google.se and also get some good amount of backlinks from English .se sites

You already have an answer. Your site should not be listed if it is organically optimized for Swedish language
