What is the difference between cloaking and redirect? In many of the searchenginewatch.com articles 301 permanent redirect is mentioned as the best option. My store host has the url set up using something like this: www.storehost.com/stores/mystore. I use the DNS to change this to mystore.com. I have never seen DNS discussed (and frankly I am not sure what it is). Is the best option 301 redirect or DNS, and are either considered cloaking?

DNS = Domain Name Servers - used mostly for pointing a domain to the hosting address - can be used for other things but 301 is more accurate and deliberate

Assuming then that 301 is not considered any sort of cloaking. The reason I ask is the literature from my sight developer/inventory system company interchanges the words c-redirect and cloaking.
