I looked around and didn't find anything conclusive. If my client had their server in France would that impact them negatively from an SEO perspective if their client were mostly in Russia and the USA?

server location will impact local results for the country of hosting but in such a small way

Frank you are right, because my corporate website is hosted in US server still it ranks on many single phrase keyword but not in Google us but in Google India.
I tried a lot to get better rankings in Google US, changed in preferable regional area where i want to target my business through Google webmaster account but not getting success.
Any help on this will be appriciated.

the US has a lot more competition so you really need to be in front... if look to grab a geographical area you should have the address in a few places on the site - location page is always good - local phone number and anything else

what frank said 110%. But also, assuming you have an english language site on a .com address hosted in US,it seems *very* odd to rank well in Google India for real kws unless you first ranked for those words in US. Do do all of your links come from India? What about registrar/whois address? Do you have adwords account with India cc/billing info?
How sure are you that you are actually hosted on US server?

Hi Frank and John,
Thank you very much for your kind help. I am sorry i couldn't get back to this post on time last week.
BTW, my website is hosted in US and links coming from us based website and we are located in Tampa, Florida.
We have used our physical address on each and every pages of website in the footer. Most of inbound links are coming through US based websites. Adwords account billing info. is in also US.
Seriously, i'm tired now. I do have good rank for my website for keywords like, "custom web" "website designer" "custom web design" "web design software" in India but not in US, this is bit frustrating for me.

are these US based website controled by people in India? Google knows the IPs if you are logged in to a gmail account or are using their analtics.

Hey rapidv, if you are talking about jct site, then yes, Goog has you associated with Ahmedabad/Gujarat India.... its kind of mixed up, G may have put it together based on dti, tuncer, cross promo, blogspot/blogger stuff(they are owned by Google). There are many ways that these sites are all connected to each other that in your case somehow seem to override tld,IP. I'm sure if you dig deep enough you will find the smoking gun.
