Hi There,

Started a new project for a customer and as part of my recommendations I check the Inlinks to his site on yahoo! site explorer. It came back with 355 which I thought was a good start till I realise that these were all from his site. There are lots of subdomains on there that people dont need to see, for example javascript files and such. Does 355 pages of pointless stuff, hurt his chances of SEO. I mean they must be linked from somewhere to get crawled.

Kind regards
Neil

Hi Neroma,

Have you tried using Google webmater tools? Try that and see if you get the same amount of internal links. I think there needs to be a balance in internal, inbound and outbound links.

Cheers...

pull all pages and run it through separate link checker... change those pages not wanted in index with a noindex tag - and nofollow the links to the pages

Aussie I understand what you mean by the noindex tag, but what do you mean by a seperate link checker???

link checker of what links to where in the site itself so you know your own internal link structure

do a search for internal link checker

if a customer uses Joomla, and have 4000 links as they use Joomlafish, for translation so basically some of the links have been translated into 5 different languages this is okay right?
