Yes, nofollow instructs the search engine not to follow the link.
It doesn't mean the link doesn't send traffic though.

but it does not help in PR... unless you are doing it and saving the link juice

More and more links are becoming nofollow...you have to wonder if they're going to matter down the line.

Directly, it does not help, but indirectly, it can. As MattUK said, just because the search engines don't follow the link doesn't mean the link won't bring visits.
"NoFollow Doesn't Help You In Ranking" is it right ? It depends on how it's used.

It certainly won't help building PR.

not true you can limit what page rank is passed internally and externally
As google says, "(rel="nofollow") on hyperlinks, those links won't get any credit when we rank websites in our search results."

FYI - this week at the SMX Advanced conference, Yahoo indicated that they too are using nofollow.

No follow does not help but it can give traffic.

Yes, it doesn't help your ranking but there's a lot of websites that I have been visited before and I see they have "NoFollow tags" but then they have a good content. I think nowadays NoFollow is not really a big problem in your ranking.

No follow attribute does support in our ranking or not?
As we use meta tags:
<meta name="title" content="data" />
If we use meta tags like this <meta name=title content=data/>
Then will be our ranking down?

Yes, because Google doesn't recognize a website with Nofollow tags.

I'm surprise to see people thinking NoFollow have no impact in rankings. That's not true, as simple as this is actually the only way to manage the Page Rank of each page on your website internally. Managed well, it can massively boost your rankings for your targeted pages.

nofollow can help with link juice bleeding... I use for contact and other non essential pages internally

Okay, AW, if you're going to mention using nofollow to sculpt PR, then I have to follow on with my usual mantra: Using nofollow on internal links to sculpt PageRank is not for beginners. Use with extreme caution else you might wind up shooting yourself in the foot.

Sculpting PR can lead t disastrous results indeed, and definitely for SEO expert only. But, it still remains a technique.
