I have new products released almost monthly. I cannot rely on along term SEO approach as by then theproducts I have will be out of date.

What SEO Strategy should I be using to ensure when ever new products come out, they stand a good chance of being indexed and well ranked quickly within Google?

try press releases... with links to product page

i have at least 20 new products coming out each month, so writing press releases for each product may not work well, as for each new product their is a new URL.

lol. I'm not afraid of work and neither do I believe sitting in a church will get me results.

Maybe I'm trying to develop a global strategy or a strategy where by one of my key pages (i.e. Whats New page) gets indexed quickly and its results get shown well within G.

I know I can write many regular press releases to do this. What else can I focus my energy on? i.e. working smart, not just hard?

Looks good beu. Is this the equivelant of submitting a sitemap xml file to G? i.e. you submit a products feed to G instead? If so, where would my results appear by submitting them to Google Base?

no they act as a Google catalog.. so if someone is searching for your product on google they find the info you present... make them somewhat broad and you could get lucky.. but nless people are using this as their search.. these results will only appear in Universal search results... which may soon be default

As aussie said, no silver bullet but well worth a shot in conjunction with other your other online marketing activities.

Sounds Gr8. Can you give me your opinion on the following suggestion whcih some one else has given to me.
"1.) PPC
2.) Listings on applicable shopping comparison sites including froogle

Stay away from SEO on products that are short lived as 9 times out of every 10 products it will be too late ... & the client will simply start placing blame onto you. However, SEO should be performed on products which are stable availability throughout the year, which can be specific keyphrases.

They should also look into social media optimisation (a new thing coming out in our online marketing world), but this is rather more expensive."

One thing I did for a previous employer was to construct the new product pages as far in advance as possible. If you're selling these products from your web site, you can simply make the target page a "pre-order" page with all the SEOptimized information on it. Unfortunately if you're working with vendors that have specified release dates, you'll want to check with them before announcing unreleased products ahead of time. Most vendors, though, should give you at least a month of pre-order time on your site. Keep in mind, that's only a month, but it gives you just that much more time to begin any link-building or content optimizing you can do to build page quality before the product launches.

[edit] Oh, and make sure your pre-order page is the same URL that the live product page will be on. Using a different URL for pre-orders and live orders totally defeats the purpose in terms of SEO.
