Does using a lot of same links, filled with desired keywords, in the footer of every page of the website helps to get better organic rankings (especially in Google)? I have seen many sites using such links in the footer.

Personally I don’t like them since they look spammy. But if they really help with ranking, I won’t mind having them.

Please help. Thank you.

it is spammy... put the words in the copy of the pages

Links in the footer might be an attempt to help engines find deep pages but as Aussie said it looks spammy. To help accomplish this same goal without looking spammy I'd include an HTML site map if you're not already using one.

To AussieWebmaster,

Yes putting the keywords with the links in the main copy seems to be a better option.

We already have the HTML and Google webmasters sitemaps and the website is being crawled fine and all the pages we want are in the index. I was just wondering if those footer links will help to get a better position in SERP. If their only purpose is crawling, then I think they are useless since the site is being crawled fine.

Thank you guys for replying. I appreciate it very much. :)

For example, website designer sign website in the footer.
So, the idea is the number of links. 1-2 links do not looks spammy, 50 links looks spammy almost everywhere.

And if you really must include run-of-site footer links, consider using NOFOLLOW tags for things like contact, policies, company info, etc. These pages are not your bread-and-butter SEO pages anyway, so you'll reduce the risk of dup content / spam flags going up with Google.
