In my site, I have a blog also, www.example.com/blog and i used to update it regularly.

I have heard about writing articles and press release or publishing in re-print sites.

Which one will be effetive to drive traffic? Publishing articles in my site's blog itself OR publishing it in article re-printing sites?

Also is publishing articles will araise duplicate content issue?

Help needed please.

Well you can add blog to your site that could be very use full to your sites.. Here I can say one thing you can write articles related to your website and post them in all article sites.... This is regarding press release this is also very useful, when ever you create new domain or any updates in your website then you can do press release. It help you a lot in Search engines...

Of course, there's the issue of duplicate content when the same article appears in a number of different places. That's why I'd be concerned about how long to wait after putting the article on your own site before submitting elsewhere.

Also: How about if someone has both a regular site and a blog both, on about the same topic? Where do you think an article is better to put up, on the static site, or on the blog?

Jag, I wonder why you would say something like that. The more you change in the article each time you submit, the less duplicate the articles are. In fact, if you change every word each time you submit, that would be ideal.

It could easily be the blog that gets filtered out as a duplicate, while most of the others are PR0 duplications with no value and are also filtered out of the results - particularly with the same title.

Personally, I'd completely rewrite it before submitting anyplace else and wait a while, too.

1. Post first to the blog to make sure it is spidered first.

2. Make sure to significantly aslter the article before posting elsewhere (much less of a concern if you have a very high-PR or high-traffic blog)

3. Build direct links into the blog post through social bookmarking or through other blogs.

Even better, make the blog post really long, say 800 words. Make the article about 500 words "based on" the blog post, and put right into the article resource box a link to the original blog post on which the article was based.

A lot of bloggers write posts in response to an article. Technically, you could simply blog about your own article, giving separate (and possibly more opinionated) editorial analysis of the topic. Then you've got 2 sources of content with keyword targeting that won't trigger duplicate content red flags. As long as you're creative (and careful) about it, why not do both?
