I've heard different things about that. Some say they should be submitted to SE and well opimized for that. Some say no (and one should prevent bots from crawling them by a robots.txt file), there main goal is selling and tracking. What's the point ?
Second question, that depends of the first one : how to build a good landing page ?

If you are referring to a landing page that is used to track PPC ads and in itself is pretty much orphaned from the rest of the site, then there is no need to try to get it indexed in a search engine's organic results IMO. Its purpose is to 1.) track referred traffic from PPC ads and 2.) help to convert a customer.

How to build a good landing page? I would say it would be one the is well written and tells the person who lands on it what a product or service can do "for them." In other words, it needs to help “make the sale.”

in my earleir message I said

and I believe they do have some free stuff. most good websites have at least a little good free stuff to try to direct people toward making their purchases.

Actually, landing pages are a only part of a wider set of ongoing efforts you shoud apply to increase conversion and traffic quality.

You can download a special report covering these topics in depth at clicklab.com (look for learning center).
