Can anyone suggest whether there is market for products like LAN messenger or Intranet Messenger. I mean if i develop a product containing all the major features more focussing on the greater ability of video conferencing or desktop sharing then is there is a chance for such product to get a successful boom in the market? Becuase for voice conferencing I know the skype is the best but really i can't find any such messenger which has greater ability to give a more comprehensive dektop sharing or video conferencing.

I would look at doing some type of VAR to Outlook etc.

If i understand correctly, you're looking to develop a type of closed network messaging/video conferencing software. As far as small business goes - I imagine they'll make due with what's affordable - free services like Yahoo Instant Messenger, etc.

For larger corporations, I'm sure there's probably a solution or two out there, but I'm not familiar with them. That being said, there's still room to make something "better" than everyone else.

thanks for your concern....see the over all idea is not only develop and promote the product keeping the idea of focusing on intranet messenger...this prodcut can also be used an embedded comoodity in a community site or targeting corporates where I have fail to find some messenger for my small scale organization where I really something which will have greater abilities in video conferencing internally or something focused on desktop sharing....so really wanted to know whether there is any messenger available in the market as well where I can find such features or can also tell me any other innovative ideas which I can take care while developing the product...

THere are so many solutions out there, its just the companies don't know about them. If you can create something that is super intuitive "ie idiot proof" and market it the right when then you can make some things happen. You might want to take a look at the airport industry. Smaller airports to be specific.
