This time of year actually slows down for us a little. It is starting to get a little late to get products shipped in time for Christmas and people are settling in for the holidays.

After Christmas people will start looking for wide screen TVs for the Superbowl. After that they will be looking for loans and refinancing to pay for the widescreen and all the stuff they bought at Christmas.

Here is the question, less than 10 days before Christmas: Is there any thing that is hot and profitable right now? Recipes are probably popular, but not much money. Any comments?

In terms of content with ads: santa, new years eve party ideas, tips for returning unwanted gifts, bowl game schedules, new years resolutions, diets, weight loss and so on.

By the 15th it's too late to spend any time on Christmas any more, unless there's existing traffic and there's a hot special on a hot item with 2 day delivery that doesn't take but a few minutes.

Now is the time to start thinking ahead for Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day if you have that type of site.

It's important to get a headstart on anything seaasonal. I've used a schedule since back in monthly Google Dance days. Keeping a list serves as a reminder; in fact, I've even put an annual seasonal promotion schedule online.

Those are great ideas.

I think I should start a calendar like that. Maybe put it on a Google Calendar. I hate it when I am writing about something a little late.

Anything downloadable like ringtones seem to work well for me :)

Think about common New Year goals to promote in January and Feb.
Diet products, fitness equipment, education, new insurance or dental plans,
certain things like do pretty well the 1st couple months of the year.

Right now we are taking a breather and conentrating on a couple of problem orders we have. After the first of the year we will be planning our new Garden Decor section so that it is ready to premier before March 1. Two of the sites I work on are more industry related, so they are not subject to the normal seasonal trends that the third one is. The third site is my personal site and it is a learning experience. We didn't go live until the 1st of Sept. and should have had our holiday products on already.....oops. Live and learn
