Has anyone else seen how iGoogle is now forcing users to personalise? It actually stops users from searching if they dont personalise!

I can understand how it could be interpreted that way but, I see it more as making users aware that they have options other than the default. The concept of iGoogle is personalization so if that is not your bag use google.com instead.:)

There's "making people aware" and there's forcing awareness onto people. This one seems to be more of the latter.
Google could have easily provided the same box and highlighted it without disabling the search function.
Don't forget a lot of users who have personalised iGoogle will be inconvenienced when they want to just perform a quick search without signing in.

Trust me, you were not forced into it.

Yes, of course no one is forced to do anything in a virtual world. But that wasn't what I meant, and you know that.
My original question was if anyone else has seen the same feature, and the "expert" users on this forum only seem to nitpick on petty points such as use of the word "forced".
