Have you ever done and allinanchor: search and were thinking: wow these results look extremely similar to the normal google SERPs? Ive done that many times and thought b/c of that anchor text has to be extremely important (I know its important, but maybe I overestimated its power).

This happens to me again and again the allinanchor results in the top10 are the same as the normal results.

If Im using it wrong feel free to laugh at me LOL. I type is allinanchor:my keywords.

This got me wondering: Why would Google not show us all backlinks in their database on a link: operator, which has us going to yahoo to get decent results....which theyre probably doing so we dont know everything, but then give us a search operator like the allinanchor: which shows us exactly which sites have the highest number of anchor text?

I think G might be fooling us (as usual ;))

most of it seems to come down to google not wanting to provide data for the secondary links market. How long till we have a kelly blue book of link value?
